Early reports discuss signal issues when holding the phone. I don't have that.

Those pictures you posted show very poor reception....

"Apple says that this is a bug it plans to fix," Mossberg wrote, "and that it has to do with the way the bars are presented, not the actual ability to make a call. And, in fact, in nearly all of these cases, the iPhone 4 was able to place calls despite the lack of bars."

I was in a dead-spot in my house when I snapped those, which explains the lack of bars, at least in my case.

Any chance most AT&T stores will have enough of these in stock around 7/9-7/12 for me to walk in and get it? I already have a contract with AT&T so this would basically be an upgrade since I'm eliglible for one.

I don't know! I've read otherwise but like I said, I don't have that issue.

I haven't specifically seen it happen on mine either, but if Mossberg says it's just a display issue and Apple's looking into a fix, I'll believe that.

How do you guys plan on protecting your investment in this phone? I usually purchase Invisible Shield for most of my tech stuff, especially mobile equipment but I don't know how well that works with touch screens (anyone have experience with that?) and what cases are you guys looking at?

It comes with a 1 yr warranty. As long as you dont drop it in the toliet. The warranty fixes everything. Just walk into an apple store and they give you a new one.

That is pretty.......I love cool backgrounds and stuff. I always shake my head when I see somebody with a cell phone and they use the stock background.

I've used an invisible shield for my iphone 3g and Ipod touch and they work fine.
