I have been looking in to all these mods and I assume you have to "Jailbreak" your phone. I've skimmed over guides but I'm too lazy to stress my technological brain right now.

Does anyone have a fool proof guide to jailbreaking the phone and how I go about adding apps, themes, and all that good stuff?

EDIT: Used WinPwn 2.5, created the custom restore file, got in to DFU mode all that stuff. After restore Cyndia and Installer are nowher to be found. If anyone that has done it successuflly can PM me their aim or msn that would be awesome.

What firmware is your phone at ?? I don't believe there is a way to do winpwn with 2.1 yet.

it's actually not bad has some nice graphics you don't control the player you just draw the shape above the enemy that's shown and it acts as a force, you basically draw different shapes

Link ? I have several people wanting to quickpwn their phone with windows. Only thing I have seen is for Mac which was released on 9/13/08....

Sorry, can't provide the link as it also discusses piracy. However, Macrumors had a thread talking about it as well. Although they only knew about it Saturday.

I am not saying you didn't do it.
I read how to do it there but it's not the normal quickpwn way. It requires downloading extra stuff, basically a work around until quickpwn is released for windows and you can jailbreak 2.1 firmware the easy, normal way.

Download the 2.1 firmware:

for 3g:

or for 2g:

install itunes v8 (http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/) <-- all versions of itunes are there

Update the iphone with iTunes and make sure it is activated!

Uninstall iTunes v8

Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support (From Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel)

Install itunes v7.7.*

Download quickpwn with the correct 2.1 bundle inside it http://xpwn.co.uk/quickpwn-2.1-2g-3g.rar

Run quickpwn...select your iPhone1,2_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw or iPhone1,1_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw

you can select cydia and installer and logos if you wish

When it is finished the phone will reboot...Cydia and Installer will NOT be visible

Download TotalCommander <-- http://xpwn.co.uk/tcmd704a.exe
Download t-pot addon <-- http://xpwn.co.uk/T-PoT.1.1.zip

Install TotalCommander and in the left pane navigate to T-PoT.1.1.zip and click on it. It will install t-pot automatically.

Download the mobileinstallation patch <--
http://www.sendspace.com/file/pcrxy6


Use Totalcommander to install patched mobileinstallation to /System/Library/PrivateFrameWorks/MobileInstallation.framework ... clickon the dropdown box [-\-] top left and select network neighbourhood then t-pot. Remeber to back up your original mobileinstallation first!

Still in TotalCommander delete /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.plist

Reboot the phone and all is good!
