So far..this Summer Movie lineup SUCKS

    Honestly...it's getting pretty bad.

More and more, studios seem to be completely out of ideas so they either...

    1. Make a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th installment of a previous movie.

    2. Take the idea from a GREAT movie, copy it 10 times, and run it into the ground with all of the cheap knockoffs.

Fantastic Four 2, Pirates 3, Shrek 3, Spiderman 3, Hostel 2...where is the originality? Where is the fresh idea? Where is a decent script that isn't just overblown CGI with some bad dialogue sprinkled in between.

Honestly...the best film I've seen all Summer has been Disturbia. Knocked Up was pretty funny, but the rest....nothing really gets me excited except maybe Transformers and hell..Michael Bay is one of the worst PLOT driven directors ever. The movie will look pretty, and the Special Effects will be awesome, but judging from previous Bay Works..I doubt the rest of the movie will be awe inspiring dialogue and character wise.

Anyhoo..I'm just ranting because I LOVE going to the movies but it's getting harder and harder to justify spending 20 bucks at the theater to watch what seems to be the same old crap opening each week.

    End of rant.

Your matinees are half price? Wow, wish my theater did that. We get like a dollar off, if that.

That's what I try to do as well. Light crowd and I think tickets are $6 as opposed to $9 or $10.

Agree completely. The last movie I saw, that I thoroughly enjoyed was 'Blades of Glory' and before that "The Departed".

I can't STAND sequels anymore......too often they turn out to be dissapointing.

Alot of times I just go to for specific actors.......Leo, Ferrell, Denzel, Will, Damon, and Jamie rarely dissapoint.

The last good "sequel" movie I saw was 28 Weeks Later. That movie was terrific and I personally can't wait for the next one.

I agree though that the summer lineup this year is weak. I mean yeah there are all the big sequels (I've seen 2 of the 3 and liked Pirates and was disappointed with Spidey), but really none of the movies excite me. Next summer looks great though.

I don't even know what the last movie I saw in theaters was. I think it was King Kong.

Spidey was disappointing, but still entertaining.

Pirates 3 was very good, in my opinion.

I, personally, can't wait for Transformers and for Bourne.

I go to the movies maybe once a year. Rarely am I blown away or intrigued enough by something to actually go see it in theaters.
