    iPod problems

I bought a 4GB Nano on May 30th and had it connected to my Pioneer DEH-P6900UB stereo in my car. On Monday, all of a sudden, it read "No Device" across the screen. It would continue to charge my iPod but it wouldn't play anything. It still worked when I listened to it with headphones etc. Today, I wanted to add the new Fabolous and DJ Khaled albums but the computer didn't recognize it. My boy has an 80GB iPod but no computer so he gets his music from me. I tried his sync cable and nothing. I finally had to exchange it and the new one is being synced right now.

Is this something that I should be concerned about happening again or is it most likely an isolated incident?

Maybe I screwed up the connector when disconnecting from the sync cable. Any tips would be appreciated.

That's strange haven't heard of that happening before. I do know that it you format an iPod you can't go from Windows to a Mac sync without a format. You could have had a bad cable or it could have locked up.

Mine has locked up once while playing and it will give that error message if you try and and sync it up. In the instruction manual you can easily reset an iPod which is what I did.

See, I didn't get an error message. I would plug in the cable and the computer wouldn't do anything. It would be charging though but as far as it being recognized...nada.

The new one is working both in the car and with the computer so I hope I don't have this issue again.

I've had problems with my IPOD Nano as well. It freezes up quite often. I'm considering taking the money and getting a IPod Video, but I'm not sure if it would be any better.

I haven't had any freezes and I hope that I don't. I just know that it had a really good rating on cnet.com and use that before purchasing anything.
