    Laptop audio question.

Ok so the first moment I got my laptop I put in a DMB CD to test the audio quality. There was a cracking in the sound(wasnt continuous, just every so often) with most songs. So I hooked my B&W speakers to my laptop and used my receiver for the volume control and such. Still got the cracking. So I download Winamp, no difference. Is this normal for a laptop? Kinda defeats the purpose of having all my mp3s on the laptop.

If you hook up speakers to it, there shouldn't be a problem. Sure, laptops typically have terrible sound quality, but when you plug external speakers in, they should be fine... mine are.

I figured it would be as well but the cracking is still there. Its not enough to quit using the laptop as a music player but it is incredibly annoying.

I just use an adapter that goes from the laptop to the receiver.
