    Q Public

The band's music genre is described as follows: Alternative rock with an agressive pop sensibility... although sometimes, they delve into the christian-gangster-death-light jazz-metal arena.

I know that I have talked about this band before in the Indie Rock thread, but I think it's time that I start a thread about them. I understand that, after reading the Nickelback thread, they say that they are sick of that kind of voice or music or whatever, but this is just so much better to me. Q Public is a frontrunner as my favorite band alongside 3 Doors Down. Unfortunately, they are very unheard of and they aren't in stores. You can't find their lyrics on any site, but their music is on MySpace, Rhapsody, iTunes, etc.

    Here is their MySpace:

Q Public's profile including the latest music, albums, songs, music videos and more updates.

I really love the song Bedroom Light, and two others that I would recommend hearing on their MySpace are Papercuts and With One Wish (but I can see why people would like Andy as well). and one other thing that they do on their CD's is they have prelude tracks for songs (like that it goes with the other song, but it isn't exactly the same kind of song). For instance, there is a prelude track to Bedroom Light called Front Porch, which is a nice acoustic riff.

They have released two CD's, their first one being a little more generic and same-sounding than the other one, but both are fantastic in my opinion. Here are their full two albums on Rhapsody:

Alongside 110+ million songs, Napster is home to hundreds of thousands of official music videos. Whether you’re streaming on demand or listening offline, enjoy all content ad-free.

Also their only music video for the song "Stop":

I really advise everybody to listen to them and give them a chance. Again, you can do 30 second previews of them on iTunes, and there may be other sites where you can hear other songs. My recommendations are:

    - Bedroom Light (with Front Porch prelude track)
    - Something Someday (with Shine prelude track)
    - Papercuts
    - Things I've Seen
    - If
    - You Told Me
    - Green Graffiti
    - Make Believe
    - Stop
    - With One Wish
    - Candle (with Dust prelude track)

I can't help but laugh at that. That is quite the combo.

      Haha, yes it is.

So nobody wants to give them a listen?

You can listen to like 10 on their songs in full length on Pure Volume. I might check them out in a bit as I've never heard of them.

          Is Pure Volume a website?

I mean, you can hear their full songs on Rhapsody also, but if you're not registered, then you have a limit to the number of songs that you can listen to per month. But they have a few on their MySpace also.

Yeah, it's free and you don't have to register to listen to them.

              Alright, thanks.

That is all their second album, by the way. Try and check out as many of the suggested ones in my first post (of course, those are only my favorites, and I can see why people might like some other ones and not like the ones that I like). Did you listen to them?

Yeah, I listened to a couple of songs. They are pretty good, just not the kind of music I typically listen to. I usually listen to more like 3 Days Grace when I listen to rock.

Ahh, I see. Yeah, the only drawback is that you have to like the type of music... but one thing that my mom and I both agree about is that they deserve to be on the radio over way too many different bands and artists (she specifically called out James Blunt haha). Would you agree that they deserve more publicity and radio time for what kind of band they are? I think that's the main question.

                    Bump

I really think some of you guys would like this band. Again, not exactly like what you hear on the radio, and I really think that it's unfortunate they aren't played on the radio.

Since people seem to be posting bands again (and they're actually being given a listen), I thought I'd try it again with this band.

If you're going to try their MySpace link, IMO the only songs worth listening to on this playlist are Papercuts and Bedroom Light. They have other better songs you can find on the other links I've provided.
