Watching this now. Amazing show. You can actually see the pain in Shaq's eyes as he watches the kids struggle. I usually don't watch reality type TV but this looks like a must see for me every week.

It is amazing how much money fast food companies pump into schools. Starting even in elementary school. Fastfood Nation (the book not the movie) has some great statistics and anecdotal information on this stuff. Its disgusting.

Missed the show tonight... is it on for rerun anytime this week? I wanted to catch the season premier. It's a GREAT thing for Shaq to do. Being a fitness guru myself, it's sad to see the kids today. Glad that someone so maintstream will take on the task of helping with the obesity problem, starting at the ground up.

Shaq has his celeb wildside, but unlike others, at least he makes up for it 200% with these efforts. He's also partnered/sponsored in a couple of 24 Hour Fitness Gyms in South Florida.

Re: Shaq's Big Challenge - anyone watching this?

I saw the show yesterday and I will continue to support and watch this show. I always liked Shaq the person because he seems to be down to earth and he also appears to truely care about people and tries to make a difference. It is about time that a celebrity makes a show that is not about how much money they have and how great their lives are.

Shaq is a true role model and he deserves all the good that comes his way!

As for the kids today, I think parents need to play a bigger role in their lives. Now more than ever. You can't control a lot of the things your children do but you can control what they eat. To a certain extent of course.
