Can somebody tell me what they think about this article? Specifically the first sentence.

I'm not asking about the topic of the article (which is about a VA Tech survivor), but the way the article was written. Anybody not familiar with my local paper, the Daily News Record, lets just say that Ms. Heather Bowser has written more than one questionable article.

Good lord. I was an editor for my HS paper and even I would not have let that run. That is awful. I didn't even read past the first sentence.
