Anyone got Verizon FIOS and Xbox Live Wireless?

I have a friend who has Xbox Live Wireless for his Xbox 360 and Verizon FIOS and no matter what we did tonight we can't get the 360 to pass the IP test. It says it connects ok, but the FIOS is not giving him any IP. I worked on it for about 2 hours and did everything I can think of and nothing would work.

Anyone here have FIOS and use the Wireless adapater for their 360?

How is it all connected?

Was it ever working wirelessly with FIOS?

Is the Xbox directly connected to FIOS connection?

Is the Xbox connected to a usb wireless device that is networked to a router that is connected to FIOS?

Did he just get FIOS?

Need more information.

How is it all connected?

FIOS is hooked up to his main computer just fine. his Xbox 360 is in the room on the other side of the wall using the wireless adapter. I did test my notebook with the FIOS using wireless and hooked right up (from directly beside his Xbox 360 and got 3 bars out of 5 so the signal is good).

Nope, but it worked just fine with the Verizon DSL he had before.

Is the Xbox directly connected to FIOS connection?

Yes, although via the wireless Xbox 360 adapter (the official MS one)

We read that it worked to do it this way so we tried it. We were able to get the Xbox 360 wireless to go from red (no signal) to green but unable to get a DNS that worked for the 360. So we removed his old router.

Did he just get FIOS?

Yes, he did, two weeks ago.

Can't give any help about the wireless access part but I have Fios and Xbox Live and have never had any problems.

Thank you for posting this, i've been immensely worried about my Live not working after my FIOS is installed next Sunday. So now at least I can be confident my wired Live will work.

Can't give any help about the wireless access part but I have Fios and Xbox Live and have never had any problems.

Same here. Live and FIOS (wireless) worked together from Day 1.

I don't have this service, but I do have times when the 360 fails the IP test. It could be a router situation. For me at least, it has to do with the order that my computers are turned on. I have 2 computers - one wired, one wireless that are on nearly all the time.

But sometimes, when I turn the 360 on first, then one of the computers (and later turn off the 360), the next time I turn on the 360, it fails the IP test. It has to do with IP assignment by the router. I think I have to shut all computers and the 360 off to make the 360 pass the IP test the next time it comes on.

I have FIOS hooked up to my Playstation 3 network and it works really well...alot of people complain about their downloads being slow but mine work pretty well...

Same here. Live and FIOS (wireless) worked together from Day 1.

Well Verizon came today and I got it up and running ok, Xbox Live passed the test and the NAT was moderate. I added the Xbox 360 to the DMZ and now the NAT is open and everything seems to work ok, haven't played any games yet though.

Unfortunately the tech worked for 9 hours and couldn't get the TV working. They are coming back tomorrow to talk to the apartment manager as they are going to have to dig to bury a cable because Comcast has some hack job on my cable (it's a total mess).

You just need to assign a static IP in your router table that corresponds tot he MAC address of your 360. This way the Xbox 360 will always get that IP.

Mine is blazing fast, literally double of Comcasts, sometimes triple. Works great so far!!!
