    AllOfMP3.com gone?

The other day when logging in, it redirected me. I didn't change the bookmark address, but when going to the original address today, I get nothing. Does anyone have some info? Or....does anyone have a comparable legal site?

allofmp3.com was hardly legal. It was legal in Russia (where the site was based) because they don't follow the same copyrights that the US does, but if you're downloading it in the US, it was illegal (just not necessarily prosecuted).

I remember a year ago or so it wouldn't allow me to add funds to my account because it wouldn't accept Visa or Mastercard, only like diner's club or something. I'm sure RIAA contacted Visa & MC and that put and end to that... now they've either shut down due to pressure from RIAA or lack of customer base since they can't add funds.

There was a way to add funds through an international PayPal type site.

It was only a matter of time before they were shut down. They've been getting heat from a while.

Russia probably shut it down themselves if they are serious about joining the WTO.

They'll probably just relocate somewhere else and be back up within the month. Same stuff happened with Pirate Bay and they've relocated and started back up each time they were shut down.

AllOfMP3.com finally shut down, replacement already launched

It never looked like those crazy semi-pirates over at AllOfMP3.com would stick around long, and indeed, after a couple years of legal struggles, the site has finally had its plug pulled. Despite the site supposedly barring Russia from WTO entry, and high profile lawsuits filed on behalf of the record labels, it's not clear at this point whether AllOfMP3 was shut down due to an internal decision or an external mandate. Unfortunately for copyright holders, the MediaServices folks behind AllOfMP3 aren't exactly changing directions: they've merely opened up a practical mirror image of AllOfMP3.com over at MP3Sparks.com, and are keeping up with their nefarious ways.

Good for them, I am sick of the whining of overpaid musicians.
