Windows Media Player Problem
I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem. I have windows media player 11 on windows xp. Just recently for some odd reason I cannot play video from websites. All I get is a dark green screen and audio. I can still play any video I download, but but some streaming video from websites. Anyone know of a solution?Tags: None -
Re: Windows Media Player Problem
Go to www.divx.com and download divx codecs and that will probably fix it for you.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Windows Media Player Problem
Okay, problem. I downloaded it, and immediately went it fixed the problem. I went to a particular website that I had trouble viewing videos from and they worked. I layed down and took a nap, and come back to that website and now the media player gives me the green screen again! The only thing I did inbetween was play a video on my hard drive to make sure it still worked there as well. So what happened? Is this a setting problem somewhere?Comment

Re: Windows Media Player Problem
Man that sucks, here's what I'd do if i were you. I'd uninstall Media Player and uninstall Divx. Then reinstall both of them, install Media Player first, and see if that fixes it. It sounds like there is some sort of corruption. Also, when you test playing a hard drive file, don't test the same file this time, try a different one. Maybe that file is changing something<?>Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Windows Media Player Problem
Could this be related at all to Quick time? I think I began having these problems once Quick Time was installed. I could be wrong, but seems about the same time. Any correlation?
I might try to un install quick time and see what happens. I rarely use it, just needed it for something I was downloading at the time.
Funny because this morning media player was working, and then this evening it stopped again. I don't know.Comment
