    How's this laptop?

Keep in mind this isn't for gaming(that's what my 360 is for), it's just for schoolwork and other stuff:

    Inspiron 1721
    AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 (512KB/1.6GHz)
    2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
    Glossy, widescreen 17.0 inch display (1440 x 900)
    ATI RADEON® Xpress1270 HyperMemory™
    250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium Edition
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
CD / DVD writer (DVD+/-RW Drive)
    High Definition Audio 2.0
Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini Card
    Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Well I wanted to get a good one that won't be too outdated later on.

              So it's a good deal? I was hoping that I didn't overpay.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I don't want to make another asking the same thing. I'm about to order my first laptop for school, and was thinking of a Dell XPS M1330 (most likely the one in the middle column) and was wondering if anyone currently uses one. Under four pounds seems like a big selling point since I'll have to carry it around campus.

I plan on doing some gaming on it, hence the XPS over Inspiron like jmood has, which looks to be a nice machine. Did you buy it online?

an integrated vid card will limit somewhat on the games you can play on it (at high detail level), but that's a fine computer too.

did you already buy it? if so, don't second guess yourself. Be happy with the purchase.
