    ESPN Entertainment?

Maybe its just me, but are ESPNs original programming such as "Season on the Brink", "The Bronx is Burning", and that Pete Rose movie really, really bad?
The Bear Bryant one wasnt that bad, but Rose's and the first Bronx episode are very low quality. I mean they do have some good talent acting, but it doesnt matter with the poor scripts, and production value. And the Knight movie is still one of the worst things I have ever seen.
I just think that ESPN is trying to cast to large a net, stick with what you do best! Not cell phones or movies.

I really kind of agree with you. It's just such a damn shame that the best thing ESPN Original Entertainment did got canned after one season because of outcry from the NFL. Playmakers was VERY well done! I have that entire season on DVD.

They still have an extremely small budget. In a way, the cheesiness almost makes the shows more endearing. However, I'll agree that the Bobby Knight thing was one of the worst moments in ESPN history.

As it stands, I can't get past the too obvious, deliberate attempt of ESPN to project a predetermined agenda.

The only thing I enjoy from ESPN is the "My Wish" segments, yet even those are overdone with fabricated emotions.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I did kind of enjoy the movie "3" when it came out though.

I loved the Bear Bryant one. And Hustle wasn't that bad.

I just wish they hadn't been pressured into canceling Playmakers.

I wanted to check out the bronx is burning, but any series that airs at like 10 pm on a weekday is buried for a reason.

It was good all the way up to the ending, which completely sucked.

Playmakers was one of my favorite series of all time... the thing was well written and got good ratings... yet the NFL had it canceled...

Otherwise I haven't really enjoyed any of their other shows... I tried to get into that poker tv show they had but I never could... can't even remember the name of the show anymore.

I liked Playmakers, loved Tilt, liked the Junction Boys...that's about it. I'm giving The Bronx is Burning a shot because I like Oliver Platt, but that's it.

Playmakers was my show, even my wife enjoyed it. I was pretty heated when they took it off after a good first season, though I kind of saw that coming.

Same here... I enjoyed "Playmakers" immensely... That was just about the best thing ESPN ever put out.
