    360 Component Hookup

I never noticed it before but my tv supports component connection. I have the component cables connected to my tv and I get picture but no sound. Any thoughts?

did you plug the red and white wires from the 360 cable to your tv's audio input?

            hmm

since i'm a t work, i am just throwing some things which might/might not work

check sound settings on xbox dashboard.

make sure the audio cables are plugged into correct output. if you are unsure. put a game in and just begin to plug the red or white ( or both if you want) cables into other red and white slots. see if that does it.

make sure cables are pushed completely in.

cant think of anything else that it might be right now though

I'll tinker with it a bit. If nothing else I'll go back to using the standard video input. Don't really want to do that though but have been for six months.

I don't know, maybe make sure the switch on the 360 cable is set to HD?

Honestly never have experienced this, all my video inputs go into my tv w/o sound because I run the sound to my reciever.

thats fine though. If it supports component and you get the visual, then you should also be able to get the audio as well.

                    out of ideas here.

You need to make sure your plugging the red and white audio cables to the same input as the component. They should be like audio 1 and component 1 or something to that effect.

My tv only has 1 set of audio inputs and 1 set of component inputs.

                        EDIT
I had my DVD player connected to what perceived to be a standard set of a/v inputs but the audio portion was actually dedicated to the component input. I now have component video AND AUDIO.

                        Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!

I love this too. All of the text that used to be so hard to read on college hoops is now crystal clear. Heck, the font is even different.

Pick up one of those 20 dollar component switchers from Gamestop Nole. You can have your DVD, XBOX and two other devices hooked up at the same time.

I may do that. There's a huge difference between the component and composite though. Whew!
