The Pianist

Not sure if anyone has seen this movie based on a true story. I finally got to see it and it made me cry. I think this is either the third or fourth movie that I cried out. Anyhow, you definitely need to go to your local library or movie store and pick this up for a quick view. It's pretty hard to sit through if you're the sensitive type and get into the character. Very well done movie. Anyone else see the movie?

I bought this movie thru a friends recommendation, still haven't watched it. Partly because he said pretty much what you said, so Im waiting for a day when I have the whole house to myself so I can just watch it with no interruptions.

I caught this on UniversalHD on Sunday night. Great movie, I didn't come close to crying, but it was an outstanding film. When Brody gets out of the burning hospital, hops the brick wall and starts walking down the street where everything has been bombed to hell is an amazing scene.

Plus the wheelchair scene and the scene where the Nazi officer selects eight random men to be shot are pretty chilling. My roommates girlfriend had to leave the room and refused to watch the end of the movie after that scene.

Brody won Best Actor for it, though I had never even heard of it before. Then again, I don't consider myself a movie fanatic.

I wish UniversalHD and Mojo would play more movies like this and less B-rate movies from the 70's and 80's that have no business being shown in HD. Hell, they have no business being shown anywhere.

If you get touched easily, you might want to give yourself a good 15 minutes after the movie. I started tearing when I saw my father knowing that there could have been any moment for me not to grow up with him. I cried on him, kissed him, hugged him and all that stuff. The guy had so much going for him and lost it all so quickly. I mean, if that happened to me, I don't even know how far I could go. He was a strong man. Amazing.
