    Confused about e-mail spamming

I don't understand it when you receive unfiltered spam why you get incoherent messages and also ones that are additionally not listed to your email address. For example, just received this one today:

    <same problems.

Hello. How are you? Email me at aqyaeb @ linkmailmessage.(xxxx) only. I am
pretty girl. If you would like to see some of my pictures.
compared with to a mortgage endowment. says the report, would be.
    >

Basically, am I being invited to connect with some hot chick, a hot mortgage banker, a hot chick mortage banker or what? Why do these poorly worded messages get sent out like this? I thought that someone here who works more on the technical side of the web might know.

Just the way spam is. There is nothing really you can do about it.

      Re: Confused about e-mail spamming

Even though this is somewhat related, I didn't want to make two different threads, so, hope you don't mind if I share my experience that just happened last night.

I never heard of the e-card spam before, but I must have took some stupid pills last night.

An email came rolling in and it was from e-cardgreetings.com I think. Click on the link from, Partner, blah, blah, blah.(This is on a desktop) I clicked on the link and all of a sudden Avast started going off like a bomb just hit. Warning, Warning, trojan detected. I'm like great, so, I opened Avast, and it said one detected.

I contacted Dell immediately and they went over step by step to discover if the virus infected the hard drive. After the system check by Avast, everything was in the clear.

I never thought I'd fall for one of those.

Well, my Yahoo filter does seem to cut down on how much I get. I just wondered why some are in this semi-cryptic language. Does this help them bypass some rule or law?

Sorry, fishepa, your answer only mirrors how my wife describes me!

NEVER open anything in an email unless you know what it is.

Yep, I never thought I'd fall for it, but I did.

This is filed under the live and learn law.

They word it like this to bypass the spam filters. If it were to say "Hi, I'm a mortgage broker, here are my pics" most likely it will get spammed. But since the wording above is similar to a post about a broker emailing his client about pictures of a house it went through.

It's like the phishing scams...you may get an e-mail that looks like PayPal, and the link it has you click may look like PayPal, but it's really at something like "http://secure.paypal.hahayousucker.com/alogin.php?session=dfdakers"

lol, I get one of those (PayPal) just about every day in my spam folder. Gmail is great at picking up spam for me though, rarely does anything get through.
