Wasn't too impressed with the trailer...will probably wait until it hits DVD and rent it through Blockbuster Total Access...

I have a feeling that the CG Angelina Jolie (playing Grendel's mother) will be in a lot of folks' dreams...
      CGI Jolie?

Just one step closer to the dream.

Exactly. When I read it, I thought of some f'ugly monster.

So did I but I'm not going to argue with this casting.

Its almost as bad as casting Tom Cruise as one of the conspirators in a movie about the attempt on Hitler's life.....oh, wait......

                A new internet only trailer:

I'm totally geeked for this movie. Should be a fun one!

Was it Grendel ripping the dude in half?

I'm psyched for this and am eager to see what other studios adapt adventure and/or comic book movies this way. Imagine a Spider-man flick without Sony worrying about Tobey McGuire's back...could be GREAT!

yeah that was Grendel... for some reason when I read the novel Grendel, I always thought of him as a much smaller monster, but this version of Grendel works great as well.

I KNOW it was Grendel, I was just wondering if it was that moment in the trailer where you went "HOLY ****" and decided that you have to see the movie.

oh lol... nah I think it was the burning cross... it looked gorgeous, but what really did it for me was the scene with the bodies hanging from the rafters... I was afraid they weren't going to do the book justice...also I absolutely loved the ending with the voice over... especially the "I am the teeth in the darkness line" all building up to the "I am Beowulf" line really hooked me.
