One for the OS metal fans

There has not been much talk on these boards of metal in a long time. Just curious to see what people have been listening too.

    My current rotation

Machine Head - The Blackening (album of the year)
Devil Driver - The Last Kind Words (just released today and it is awesome)
    Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell (Not metal but one of my favorites)
    Pelican - City of Echoes

Anyone out there listen to Daath? I have been hearing some stuff on Sirius and I may have top pick it up

I'm looking for the new Devil Driver. Down is fixing to put out another one in Sept. 25.

The new Bad Religion CD is probably the best CD I have heard in years.

        Amazing, amazing, amazing.

I have really been into the UK band Architects over the last few months. They are on tour right now with aforementioned Darkest Hour.

And since when is Bad Religion metal? They have been punk rock since the 80s and haven't changed.

I have always liked Pelican. I haven't checked out the new album yet...I will do that now. I'm not a big fan of Devil Driver or Machine Head. Darkest Hour is alright, but I like a lot of other metal bands more.

Metal I would recommend to injunwal (or any metal fans):

Anyone got any suggestions for Metallica-style melodic metal that is without
yelling? Can't stand yelling in my music at all.

Try- Corrosion of conformity, Down (more southern metal then thrash)
I'll try and think of more with no yelling

Re: One for the OS metal fans

Are Corrosion of Conformity and Down two different bands?

Fast, Metallica-metal is what I love. The heaviest music I can listen to is either that or Rammstein. Epic-sounding solos (like in Blackened) are what I look for. Muffled yelling his horrible.

                      Thanks for the suggestions!

                          Right now...

Danzig - The Lost Tracks of Danzig (if you're even a casual fan, you need this 2-disc set)
                          Nuclear Blast All Stars
Devin Townsend - Ziltoid the Omniscient
Edguy - everything (I'm gearing up for the US tour in September, can't wait!)

I need to pick up the new 3 Inches of Blood at some point, and I'm looking forward to the debut effort from Ride the Sky called New Protection. The title track appears on the bonus disc for the Nuclear Blast All-Stars album and it's quite catchy.

The only metal I really listen to is Tool, but I love them. I love all of Aenima and Undertow, Lateralus, and 10,000 Days are great also.
