Just an awful movie.

This is the type of film that fuels the fire for critics that want to see an end to torture porn movies being made.

Captivity is kind of like the Saw movies only without anything original or interesting.

Let’s see:

A Jigsaw type of character … Check
Cops are involved …. Check
A twist later in the film …. Check

By the way I guessed what the twist would be 20 minutes into the film.
The film has a misogynistic feel to it. Elisha Cuthbert’s character is very un-sympathetic, and much like the Hostel films, I was actually hoping she would die.

I have no idea why a respected director like Roland Joffe was involved with this project.

And I know what you’re thinking …….. Does Elisha Cuthbert get naked? Well yes but the viewer can't see anything.

I don't see why people should wish for the genre to die. There's going to be great movies, and there's going to be horrible movies. This happens in every part of the entertainment industry where money can be made.

Exactly, and I very much enjoyed the Hostel movies, especially Hostel 2, that movie rocked. As for this movie, I read in the local newspaper it got an F rating, LOL.
