    Internet Help Necessary...

Okay guys, to preface this...I'm on Firefox.

When I go to coupon/deal site and try to click a link, it will almost never jump me to the link it's supposed to take me to. It'll get stuck on a blank page and the URL for the blank page will say something about "click1 synergy" or some crap like that.

    Any way to fix this?

Try to put the site you're accessing on your trusted list to make sure it loads everything. Go to Tools >> Options >> Content then under block pop-up windows, click on exceptions.

Might wanna try checking for spyware on your computer first though.

It's def. not a spyware issue. I run spyware/adware/virus checks on a consistent basis, and nothing has come up.

Try what I suggested then. Maybe the link is a pop-up and its being prevented from opening by Firefox. If that doesn't work, try it on IE.

Ok, I'll try my best to help you out.

If you tried the links on both Firefox and IE, there is a chance that most likely it's nothing to do with your computer, but the website itself. Theres a possible chance that the Site Admin coded the link incorrectly, which is why its coming up blank.

If this is the case, try this: Right-click on the actual link and click on COPY LINK LOCATION.

This should copy the url of that link you tried clicking on. Then open a new window/tab on Firefox or IE. Paste the link and see if it comes up.

If a link such as "javascript:rgmow('/rgmow.php?aid=47483','47483')" comes up.. then its a javascript, and unless you can decode it to pull out the link, you might be out of luck.

Give that a shot and see what happens. Another solution would be to post the site that your trying to access, so that I can see if it will load up for me. If it doesn't than most likely its a web design issue.

This is one that isn't working...

              http://www.techbargains.com/jump.cfm...0&arg=A1178810

It's a "jump" from Techbargains to Dell, but it's still not working. I tried to copy/pase but it didnt work and I got stuck with this -- http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/...&u1=97599-n-10

Try clearing everything... cookies, temp. files, cache, etc.

                  Look inside your HOSTS file

                  hosts is located at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

check and see if the URL you cant access is there.

                  From http://www.internetinspiration.co.uk/hosts.htm

" Some security applications can add known dodgy sites to your Hosts file as part of its protective features, so you may already have a long list of sites with dodgy names. providing these names are preceded with 127.0.0.1, you are being protected."

the address, 127.0.0.1, is a loopback address; basically routing back to your computer.

I used HijackThis to check out the Hosts file...

And the only thing in the notepad doc was

                    "127.0.0.1 localhost"

welp, then i got no clue as to whats happening.

it has to be some program on your machine which will not allow you to view what it considers coupon sites and its affecting both browsers.

You try temporarily disabling your antivirus and firewall software? maybe one of those is blocking those sites for you. Zonealarm has a habit of doing that.

and what exactly is click1 synergy? sounds fishy; like some sort of malware.

I tried disabling Kaspersky and that did nothing.

I think that site is some sort of re-routing site that earns sites like Techbargains money for tracking the links. I've tried everything on the Techbargains site regarding work-arounds (because they know some people can't view anything) and nothing has worked.

Some of the jumps DO work, but some of them don't. It's utterly frustrating.
