I used to play it all the time. Cards, Game Boy Games, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium, all of it. I had something like 600+ cards, including some rare ones, and only got like $35 for it. I probably would have waited and sold them to someone for more if I wasn't 11 years old at the time.Comment

I never really played Pokemon, however, I did beat Pokemon Snap in like 8 hours the day it came out.

Never played any collectible card games, and the Magic dorks in high school were often objects of my scorn and pity.
Of course now large, complex board games are great (i.e. Axis and Allies, Catan, Ticket to Ride, Puerto Rico) and all the while I was a video game RPG nerd...I just never did the tabletop RPG stuff, so in that regard, I ruled!I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. - Douglas Adams

I played a decent amount of Magic and a little bit of Pokemon, but my bro was a lot more into Pokemon than I was. I still have a binder with all of my more expensive cards.
I played Dungeons and Dragons a lot for a few years like when I was 12 or so.
I stopped playing these before high school, so I escaped some of the scorn some of you proclaimed

Man, some of you guys are harsh. I made sure to keep it quet in high school. That would of been a bad 4 years....lol. But know that I am graduated and got a job I can care less what people think of me. I enjoy it so I will continue to play it. I do manage my budget on them tho. I was pretty big into Pokemon when it came out (5th grade for me, more than 7 years ago). Me and my brothers had a nice collection of cards and I ran a strong Wigglytuff/Haymaker deck at local tournies. I got to the #1 ranking at one point on Pojo's Apprentice League as well after I stopped spending money on cards. Went with a classic Sneasel Trap deck except when metagaming other top players. Eventually (even then), the game became too broken. I remember Oak, Pluspower, Bill, Pluspower, Oak, CPU Search, Pluspower, OTKO gg way to much. Stopped playing before Prop 15 and all those other regulations went into effect.
Yugioh was a much more advanced game in terms of strategy when it first came out, and I also enjoyed playing it. I only bought single cards that I needed for my deck (cost me a small fortune), which was playtested over and over online with Apprentice and YVD. I had my deck planned out to the card and went after only what I needed. I'd stick in slips of paper into sleeves as place holders before I got the cards and play with "the deck". Beatdown wasn't original and wasn't fun like turbo exodia, but it worked and got me to top 5 online. What really turned me off was a new set coming out every month and a half or so, and I just couldn't keep up. I sold off my collection (well, deck of 45 or so) before any cards were officially banned. This was all 2002-2004 or so. I downloaded an emulator for it a while back just for the hell of it and had some fun though. I still read up on the current state of the game on pojo and it doesn't really make me want to get back to playing.Last edited by dkgojackets; 08-12-2007, 11:22 PM.Comment
