Chappelle is just a skinny looking loud mouth. That was his catch from the jump. He is funny also at times, but not a lead role type of funny. Dang, never knew that there wasn't much like on this site for Eddie Murphy. Ninja always made me laugh. Haven't seen Norbit yet though, but I'm sure I'll be entertained. Seems like a good movie.

Are you judging Dave Chappelle by his show or his actual Comedy Routine? Cause he isnt a loud mouth at all. I think people always forget that by the time you see a peson in the mainstream they are like a shell of thier actual talent. Because you have to conform soooooo much just to get the powers that be to jump on board to push your talent that it is never really what it seems. Chappelle is of the Pryor line of comedy... thought provoking but raw... Chappelle might not be your cup of tea but at least he came with his own style unlike some comics (black comics especially) who seem like they just spit out the same racial humor and some rehashed Eddie Murphy material and pass it off as original.

I'm not a big fan of Chappelle, however I do like his "Clayton Bigsby" skits.

The movie is being put together by the guy who wrote the script for Inside Man. I'm not sure if he is writing it to be a comedy or serious. If it is supposed to be serious, I will pass. None of the mentioned actors, aside from Denzel and Foxx, have the "serious" appeal to them. If it's supposed to be a comedy, it might be okay.

I do not have high hopes for this movie, but we'll see how it goes.

Edit: Whoops, title says it's a comedy. Eh, I'm still not sold.

Tell it like it is, BigTig.

For What It's Worth is definitely in the Top Five for stand-up's of all-time.

The movie is presently being put together by Russell Gerwitz, who wrote the script for Inside Man which also starred Washington.
Russell Gerwitz is probably the most important guy on the project. The script won't determine the financial success of the film, but it will determine if the film is any good or not. Ratner is a technically sound director, the acting talent is definitely there, its going to come down to the writing and the ability of the actors to check their egos

I really dont think Mike Epps is funny @ all! I'd rather see will or martin than eddie, but if I had to choose between eddie & mike... it would be eddie all day.

I do too. "There's a ground Monty, I know there's a ground" Plot sucks, acting sucks, directing sucks, script sucks, but Eddies one-liners make it all worth it.

I like pretty much anything Eddie is in. Chappelle is a better stand up, but go watch the movie half bake. That is a funny movie.
