Couldn't believe that some of those kids did'nt even know the date the bomb was dropped.

Sounds like something America kids wouldn't know (like in 20 years some probably won't know what day 9/11 happened).

I seem to recall that the US military estimated that it would take 1 million soliders' lives to invade Japan (and with that millions of Japanese lives). Unfortunately, the Japanese government wouldn't surrender, even though they were basically beaten. It took something so horrific to end the war.

War sucks. A few rich and powerful guys decide that millions of people should die just so they can get more rich and powerful.

The name of the show was White Light/Black Rain and it was released on DVD on August 7. My wife and I are history buffs (she's a social studies teacher, I was a political science major) so I'm definitely renting this.
