Are there any reports of 360's overloading TV lamps?

I've got a Toshiba DLP HDTV.

I had the lamp explode when I got All Pro 2k8 - and just now it exploded when I turned on the TV and went to the 360 channel... Has anyone else heard of the 360 somehow doing something to cause the lamp to overheat or something?

I think its the tv. I have a toshiba dlp 56", i forgot the model #, but i've replaced the lamp twice in a year and half. Try and keep it on a low light, i've always had it on high and it maybe overheating, especially in a hot living room.

Guess next time I'm going to avoid Toshiba. I should have probably done some research before I went and bought it :\

I don't think that's the 360 at all. I've had a Samsung DLP for a few years now and not one problem with the lamp. I'm still on the original lamp (although it's starting to get a little darker).

There's no way the 360 could surge the lamp output. Like the guy earlier said keep it on low power (will improve your black level if calibrated correctly) and/or adjust your user settings. Also let your TV warm up and cool down all the way. Rear projection sets are fickle when it comes to constant on/off switching...if you'll be back in a half hour, it's probably best to leave the display on.

          Good luck!
