    Re: Windows Live Messenger

I use it for work and then I have it linked up to my 360. It's ok I guess. I've used AIM for about 10 years so I'm sort of partial to that, but I like some of the features. Any time you are listening to a song or watching a video, it automatically updates your status to reflect that. No tabbed conversations yet like on the new AIM, but all in all it's a pretty good program.

I also use it connected to my 360, and have one bud who doesn't use AIM... other than that, AIM is really the one I use.. Nothing wrong with WLM, but everyone I know uses the other one.. Best thing about WLM? you can send "nudges" to annoy the other person !

I use it, and know a few people that use it. We use it at work too, so thats where I get my exposure to it.

It's the same as MSN Messenger just a new name and a better interface. It's not bad, and I kind of like some of the options on it. I've used aim since I first got AOL back in 1991, but I've used Yahoo/MSN for quite a while too. If somebody wants to add me, you can PM me and I'll give you my WLM address.

I like it. A lot of my buddies use it because of the xbox live integration.

How come I can have a chat with somebody who uses Yahoo messenger and is listed as a contact but he doesn't show up on Xbox Live?

Too many ads for me, and other useless stuff. I have an MSN account, but I use it from withing Trilian. All my conversations are placed in one neat chat window and I can switch by clicking on tabs.

I've used it pretty much from the get go. Well my first few years online I used ICQ but that was kinda blah and someone recommended MSN so i've stuck with it ever since. Everyone I talk to online uses it.

Good info about it having integration with XBOX Live. If I EVER get an X360 i'll have to integrate myself with it.

Same, used to be an ICQ guy back in the day but for some reason just out of the blue people started migrating to MSN so I followed suit.

There is software that can hide the ads and slim down the Live Messenger window though, so I'm not too bothered by it. As long as it does the job of instant messaging I'm happy.
