    The Lookout

I'm surprised this movie didn't have a thread yet since it was a wide release. It comes out on DVD tomorrow and it's my favorite of the year so far. Everyone who likes crime dramas should check this one out. The protagonist kind of reminds me of Memento.

Is that the one with the kid from Angels in the Outfield?

If so, I've been waiting to see this movie for quite some time now. I just don't know when is all.

Yeah...He's probably the best young actor out there behind Ryan Gosling.

I was so sick of the damn commercial when it was being advertised.

"I have the money, I have the power!"

Haven't seen the movie, but Shia Lebouf has something to say about the best young actors in Hollywood.

IMHO, Lebouf is missing one thing.

Levitt has Mysterious Skin and Gosling has Half Nelson. What's Lebouf's knockout signature performance? He is definitely one of the best young actors today and always does a good-to-great job in his films, but so do these other guys and I think the performance that brings Shia to greatness is yet to come.

I've only seen him in Holes, Bobby, and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, though.

Transformers, Disturbia, Greatest Game Ever Played.

Three amazing films where Shia has been the main character.

                      Re: The Lookout

Anybody that thinks this is going to be a Oceans 11 type movie is going to be disappointed.

Pretty impressive directorial debut from Scott Frank. The film moved at a crisp pace and the main characters were really interesting. Matthew Goode was amazing as the main villain. It was a complete 180 from all the other roles I've seen him in.

Gordon-Levitt also had a really strong performance. I hope both of these actors get Oscar consideration.

Hopefully this movie finds a larger audience now it's out on DVD.

                      B+

For any of you Joesph Gordon-Levitt fans out there, have you seen "Manic?" He's in a psych ward, it has Don Cheadle in it, and I thought it was a pretty good movie. I just watched it last night on Showtime for the first time. I was looking for some soft-core late and stumbled upon it...pretty good flick.

(That last sentence was a joke...kind of.)
