Has anyone else checked this out???

A friend recommended it to me the other day so I picked it up, it's tremendous.

It's a documentary about the still ongoing obsession with Donkey Kong and how adults still strive for the high score...but it focuses on two men. One is Billy Mitchell who owns the record and Steve Wiebe who's trying to break it. It'd made out to be sort of a good vs. evil battle but both are extremely interesting to watch and it makes for a great movie.

It sound ridiculous and at first I was really skeptical of it but it is indeed a tremendous documentary. It's amazing to see what lengths and how deep the gamers will go to try and figure the game out and get a better score.

I just watched the movie. It was great. Steve Webie is the man. Billy Mitchel is such a punk. You never actually see him play.

After watching this again, I'm still amazed as to how anyone could ever get to a Kill Screen...esp. in Donkey Kong which is easily the hardest of the old school arcade classics.

I mean, I used to be able to get to like the 20th screen on Pac-Man and I thought that was amazing...lol now I know.

The DVD was just released today, watched it from Netflix and it was just awesome. At first you think everything it portrays is so stupid and laughable but by the end you're cheering and booing certain characters and on the edge of your seat. Great film.

On Ebert and Roeper guest critic Robert Wilonsky said it was the best movie of the year (reviewed around mid August) and Roeper thought it should be nominated for a Best Documentary Oscar.

Watched this last night and man it was cool. Billy Mitchell is a total *** and double talker. I wanted to punch that smug face sometimes.

Brian Kuh and Steve Sanders, wow...Billy doesn't need a wife, he's got those two to service him whenever he damn well wanted. Some of these people are what make "gaming" seem so geeky. Man, I'm a gamer and pretty damn geeky, but these cats are scary.

I like Steve and his family though...so not all gamers are total losers thankfully.
