    Need help about an hotel

Hi guys! hope this is the right place to post this msg.

Me and 3 of my friends are comming to the US for 2 months to do a cost to cost trip, we are going to be in new york city in the first 7 days, we are not going to rent a car since its new york city and the subway is the best way to go to places the only thing we not sure is the hotel.

We only finish our army service few months ago and didnt have enough time to work and save money so we are on a budget, and our budget is 200-210 $ a day for 1 room with 2 double beds for 4 people. now we heard about the "carter hotel" which is very cheap, its in time square and cost 173$ a night, but the ratings and what we heard about this hotel is BAD, like cockroach and stains on the bed, ugly toilet and things like that, now maybe anyone know this hotel and can tell me more about it? plus maybe you know other kind of hotels? or maybe hotels in brooklyn?

we found some hotels in brooklyn like "days inn" and "comfort inn", but i have no idea how much time it takes to get to manhatten from those hotels and i hope you guys know better than me.

anyway hope to hear from anyone who can help us! thanks!

I'd try some hostels. Hotels are crazy expensive in NYC usually. Hostels get a bad rap but they are usually in good condition. I've never stayed at one in America but the ones in Europe are all fine and very affordable.
