Re: MTV VMA's 2007... AKA, I just threw up in my mouth a little bit
I don't think I've ever seen a person laugh at her jokes.
Her jokes aren't really hard hitting like that. People, however, still go to her stand-up comedy shows.
I think it's how she delivers her lines that intrigues watchers/listeners and attracts them for next time."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Damm that has to be the worst VMAs ever! The show keeps getting worse every year. From the lame rap/rock performances with the drunken crowd of 50 people in the plams to Britney dancing in slow motion while not even lip-synching her own song. I hated the format couldn't even remember who won what awards, because of the presentation. Only thing that was good was Timberlake telling MTV to play music videos.Comment

This is why I like Justin Timberlake. He knows he owes part of his success to MTV (a lot of pop artists do) when he was in N'Sync. But to go out and basically challenge them to be a music station instead of playing reality television is great.
MTV probably won't listen (and they wonder why ratings are down). Just nice to know that an artist I support is willing to back up the music fans that are tired of MTV's crap."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Kanye plays the race card again:
"I can’t believe she (Britney) would perform. She hasn’t had a hit record in years," a slighted-sounding Kanye West, whose eagerly anticipated Graduation drops Tuesday, said Saturday night at a Rolling Stone party. "Maybe my money's not right. Maybe my skin's not right."
Also Dave Grohl offered an opinion:
"You know those things that you put batteries in and they just vacuum the floor without anyone touching them? That’s what I think of Britney Spears,"
Oh yeah, even though Sarah Silverman bombed, she was funny as hell. The only reason she didn't get a lot of laughs (imo anyway) was because the audience was industry only and they all knew they could be next. Saying Britney's kids were the two most adorable mistakes was a bit low though.Last edited by trobinson97; 09-10-2007, 09:40 AM.PS: You guys are great.
