Well, looks like the trend of 80's toys being made into movies has replaced comic books as the hot trend in movie-making. There's going to be a Robotech movie with Tobey Maguire rumored as one of the stars (http://movies.ign.com/articles/818/818558p1.html). I was a big Robotech fan and if they get the right people involved in this project, this could be a pretty cool movie.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.
I keep hearing that Toby is still trying to get this series going (supposed to be a trilogy).
But the rumor is that everytime he tries to get it off the ground, a new giant robot movie comes out - the latest bring Pacific Rim.
I still think, if done right, a Robotech franchise will destroy any and all other robot films.
I loved the cartoon as a kid.
And if somehow this parlays into the 3rd chapter of the series (with the motorcycles into exo-suits), that would be awesome!Comment
