Led Zeppelin will officially announce its reunion gig during a press conference on Wednesday, September 12 at the O2 Arena in London beginning at 4:00 p.m. BST.
If they ever decided to do this in the states I would be there in a heart-beat
I was about to ask the same question; I thought two of the original band members were dead... will there be replacement players, or just the remaining members?

From the article, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones with late drummer John Bonham's son Jason on drums, according to Billboard.com. I remember reading a few years ago that Jason Bonham is when hell of a drummer, these rumors came about when a reunion was to happen back in the 90's.

He's the drummer for Foreigner. I have bad feelings about this. I've heard this rumor for over a month now, and it's finally announced. I don't think Plant can hit the notes like he could.

I've watched Plant's Soundstage episode a few times, and he can't.

You're thinking of The Who, I guess.
Or The Beatles..
Or The Jimi Hendrix Experience (Noel Redding died a few years ago)

I didn't know that he was the drummer of Foreigner..
I'm a huge Zep fan but just can't get excited for this. The Page & Plant stuff was pretty lame when they did that. I'd rather see Page and John Paul Jones tour with Heart or something. Ann Wilson does a hell of a lot better Robert Plant than Robert Plant can now. I thought the Black Crowes tour with Page was better than Page & Plant together, too.

Agreed, Ann Wilson has the sound better at this point. Heart is such huge Zep fans, it would work too.
I'd rather see Lez Zeppelin perform honestly. Don't laugh, if you haven't seen them, they effin rock.

I really don't know if Plant has to hit all the high notes for a tour. I loved his last CD Mighty Rearranger. I just saw Rush and Geddy Lee didn't hit all the high notes from the past either, but he came close.
I saw Led Zep perform Whole Lotta Love and Stairway with John Paul Jones on TV at Live Aid in 86 and Plant couldn't hit the high notes at that time, either. They are very embarrassed with that performance and don't want any recordings leaked out at Live Aid.

I'm thrilled about it and will buy tickets and go wherever they perform closest to Knoxville. Where did you see Rush Roadman? I saw em in Charlotte at the beginning of the tour and he was hitting all the high notes and just going crazy.

That wasn't the main reason for the unleaked recordings of that performance though. They hated, HATED Phil Collins on drums. He didn't fit and Jimmy Page said it sounded terrible.
