I'm going to actually get this in a few days. I think this is a 6MB connection-will this be a dramatic improvement?

its 6 megs down and 1 meg up

i'm too far from the CO so i only got the 3 meg down 1 meg up version of it.

love the dsl though; i can count the number of times the connection has gone down with one hand in the last 8 years.

Not sure what you're upgrading from. But I use this service from Bellsouth/AT&T. Switched from cable, and love it. Hardly ever goes down compared to my cable internet service.

Graphics heavy supersites and files will download faster obviously, but other than that, surfing the net will be pretty much the same. You can usually use upwards of 90% of your bandwidth both ways before you even notice a difference and if youre talking about game performance, it will be minimal. Games don't really take much.

I don't use DSL, but thats pretty much the general rule. You really won't notice a drastic difference unless the line you are currently on has something wrong with it. When I first got cable it was 2mb, it is at 10 now I believe, and it doesnt make much of a difference except dl'ing.

Do you use broadband now? If you use dial-up it will be like night and day...

I've had broadband for a few years now. I thought the upgrade might improve my XBox Live connection for certain games.

Ah yeah, there shouldn't be much of a difference then, like I said, unless the line you are currently on has something wrong with it.

I had Bellsouth DSl for about 3 years and I don't think it ever went out. I would love to have it again, but my only choice is Charter cable.
