Good way to boost cell phone signal from home?

I recently moved to my new apartment (it's a complex type of place) and I get zero service there. I have Sprint but that's irrelevant as no provider has service in this area.

It's killing me not to have service, so does anyone have good advice on how to boost my signal?

I called Sprint and they recommended a repeater (which can be bought at RadioShack or a similar place) and the low-end ones run between $80-$100. He also said they are a pain in the rear to configure properly.

I looked at antennas online but I have no idea how reliable those would be.

    Any help? Suggestions? Experiences?

    Thanks in advance...

Yeah, I'd love to know that too. We get horrible reception at my place in GVille.
