Quick question for you PC studs....

My d drive says its size is 5.13 and saids that it has 0.97 free space. The question I have is will this cause my PC to freeze even though I have tons of free space on my c drive?

    What is your D drive?

    Mine is the cd player.

Shouldnt freeze up the computer as long as its not your harddrive.

Yeah, D is usually assigned to the first CD drive.

C is usually assigned to the first hard drive. How is the space on your C drive?

Assuming that your D: drive is just another hard-drive or a partition, it shouldn't cause any hang-ups to your computer as long as your C: drive (where Windows is installed or whatever) has AT LEAST 1-2 GB of free space just to be safe. Lack of space can cause slow-downs and, as you mentioned, hang-ups.

My computer says I have 128 gigs out of 148 on C drive. I took my pc to Bestbuy because I needed a new hard drive( It told me the old one was bad on the screen) so I bought one (EIDE 160GB/Go) the tech guy installed it and told me to add operating system at home, I did that, I was getting upgrade on my dsl to modem(2wire 2)I started getting freezes after getting things going.I told the bestbuytech later(weeks later) that after checking with my AT@T network ,that freezes were not their fault(they sent a AT@T tech out) The bestbuy tech dude said I needed more ram so I bought that(Kingston 512 PC2700 now I supposed to have a full gig cause I already had 512 on my Compaq Pressario S600CL) Now for the finalley.I still had freezes after installing more ram so I checked websites and thought after having no viruses(have Norton 360) registry cleaned (using RegCure) I came to the conclusion that it may have just been the power supply since my tower seemed a tad hot. I bought a dam Antec Trio( 430watt) power supply and guess f$#%$% what my computer is still freezing. Now at this rate I'm going to end up with new every dam thang. Only thing left to replace is the f$#$%^ mother board.................
