    Tarantino turns down Heroes

Quentin Tarantino has turned down the opportunity to direct an episode of hit TV show Heroes - because he's never watched the series.

QT told The Sun that "They were trying to get me to do one. I haven't even seen the f***ing show. What the f*** is Heroes?"

Tarantino has previously dabbled several times in network television in recent years, directing high profile episodes of "ER" & "CSI" and guest starring in three episodes of J.J. Abrams spy thriller "Alias".

I applaud him for not not even watching that overrated mainstream piece of ****.I'll never will understand why that show is so popular, the basis of the show is so generic lets give a group of people super powers so they can save the world wow i never heard of such a plot before *cough*x-men,i guess with alot of hype and advertisement you can make even the ****test of shows seem appealing.

That's too bad, I would have liked him to direct one. What's not to understand why people like the show? Though the idea of super heroes has been used many times, it's approach is very original IMO and its a really fun show to watch. Isn't tv suppose to be about fun anyways?

It's ok you don't like it, i'm sure you watch a show that's not great in many peoples opinion. And by what Tarantino has done in tv, those type of plots of have been done to death even more: CSI (put city name here), and a doctor show.

Good. It would have went backwards, had a whole bunch of excessive swearing, and the next morning everyone would have been going WTF?! Probably for the best.

Speaking of overrated, Tarantino's name has been thrown out in hollywood like he's the best thing since sliced bread. HE'S NOT THE BEST DIRECTOR EVER TO SIT IN A DIRECTOR'S CHAIR! His movies have been far or less hit or miss. The 2 movies I say were his master pieces was Kill Bill 1 and Pulp Ficition. The other movies he can have. Disappointed at Kill Bill 2. Jackie Brown was highly overrated. Reservoir Dogs was ok but nothing to write home about. And that's about it for his directoral work. He's been around quite a while and he's only directed 5 major films by himself? With only 2 being good? With the way people speak his name you would have thought everything he touches turns to gold...not the case for me.

Saying Tarantino is overrated is the same as saying Metallica's lost it.

This isn't the 90s, anymore, and the "minority" opinion is now a pretty well defined majority.

QT talks pretty matter-of-factly. So, I doubt it was an insult to Heroes, just that he hasn't watched it, and wouldn't attach himself to something sight unseen.

even though I have also never seen an episode of Heroes, his CSI episode was weak. I actually hate the episodes where stuff happens to the csi people, as it means the show is putting on it's water skis for the big jump.

                Tarantino is a prick...

Heroes is an amazing show, and his input or direction would have ruined it. The current directors and writers are doing an amazing job...

For him to just blast it like its garbage is just messed up....Screw him....

Why don't he go make some fake trailers and other b.s. films!!!! How about a Dusk til Dawn 4....I mean 2, 3 were straight trash, why stop there....

I agree with you Slayer, I don't think he meant anything against Heroes with the comments that he made................I think he truthfully has no clue what Heroes is.

Dr. J, that might be your opinion on Heroes, but imo it is a very good show that has come together fairly well. How many episodes did you watch before passing judgement?

I liked Heroes in the beginning. But the acting and the story got worse and worse, and now I'd be in the group that thinks its the most overrated show on television.

And I watched the entire 1st season, so its not like I have a poor sample.

Whoaaa Reservoir Dogs "is nothing to write home about" and Jackie Brown "is overrated"? Settle down there. Fine by me for everyone to get all defensive but those two films don't deserve that.

I'm the opposite. I thought Heroes moved a little slow in the beginning but then it started to pick up and liked it ever since. I thought the show got better since the beginning.

As far as the Tarantino comment of him being overrated, I made that comment in response to the original poster who thought Heroes was overrated. Honestly, if you think Heroes is not that good then yes you would feel it's overrated because of the hype it got. Tarantino gets the same type of hype as a director but he isn't the Michael Jordan of hollywood directors. When I see a movie billing that has, "special guest director Quentin Tarantino" or "Quentin Tarantino presents" it shows me the hype this man is getting. To me, he's ok. Like I said, Kill Bill 1 and Pulp Ficition was his finest work. The others were either overrated or so-so.
