Alternative to iTunes for iPod ?
I am currently using iTunes. Just curious what other iPod users are using. I saw several places where you pay by the month and download all you want. How does that work if you drop out? Do you loose your music ??My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Alternative to iTunes for iPod ?
I know eMusic lets you keep the downlaods after you unsubscribe, but they don't have the major-label material of iTunes. Not sure of any similar services that work with iPod.
If you are looking for a different program to sync with the iPod, I highly recommend MediaMonkey.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers
Marquette Golden Eagles | Milwaukee Bucks | Milwaukee Panthers -

Re: Alternative to iTunes for iPod ?
With like Rhapsody to Go... Napster to Go.. etc.
You can download what you want LEGALLY for 15 bucks a month on your MP3 player, but you need to hook it up once a week so that way it can renew the licenses on the songs.... some artists may decide at a later date to pull their material from being "To Go" eligible. Then those songs will no longer play on your mp3 player...
THE PROBLEM IS
Apple does not allow the iPods to support "rentals" aka "To Go" tracks.
So, with your iPod it's basically buying the mp3s or nothing at all.
You can buy from iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, etc... just no renting.
The reason I've never bought an iPod is simply because Apple limits what you can do with the iPods.
They are awesome little machines, but it sucks that Apple makes it tough too go outside of iTunes.
If you were to ever go away from an iPod I can safely say that the Microsoft Zune and the Creative Labs MP3 players are great!Last edited by DXZeke; 09-21-2007, 03:36 PM.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment
