    External Hard Drives for Laptop

My laptop has gotten a bad case of spyware, and I need a hard drive to backup all of my stuff before reformatting my computer.

I'm sure somebody here has some knowledge on the subject. I don't need 400 Gigs, all I really need is 100-200, but was wondering what the best/most cost efficient brands were.

There was another topic dealing with the same subject, but the last post was a year ago, and I'd imagine things may have changed.

    Thanks much.

I have the Western Digital Passport 120GB.

It's ridiculously useful, and you can get one for about 80-100 bucks.

Im guessing you dont have an extra drive laying around? But if you did you could get a 3.5" (or is it 2.5") housing for 9.99 and put the drive in there.

I just got a 250 GB (shows up as 232 GB on the pc) Seagate 3.5" external hard drive from Circuit City on sale (80 bucks). Just plug it in and instant disc space. I'm a big fan. You might want the Western Digital passport if you intend to actually travel with it a lot (mine's a bit bigger, but it's just going to sit on my desk)
