    Kid Nation

Ok i did a search on this and i couldn't find a already existing thread on this. I know the show premiered about a week ago. I have yet to watch it, but while i was listening to the Radio i think yesterday; they mentioned how the kids were faced with some major decision.

I guess the decision was to kill a chicken. The radio people were discussing how immoral that was. I guess the kids had to kill the chicken to eat it. That is kind of wrong. I mean personally i have never killed a living animal (insects don't count) and i couldn't bring myself to kill a living creature like that, especially as a 10-12 year old.

The station also mentioned that the parents of the children signed a waiver that omits the creators and members of the show to be sued if a child dies or gets some kind of disease. What type of parent would put their child in that type of situation? I mean is money worth your child?

I figure with so much wrong with this show this early, i'll give it a watch before it gets yanked or canceled.

Eh, waivers like that are commonplace everywhere.

I'm pretty sure all parents sign something similar for sending their kids to camp.

Lets put it this way. There's no way anything this major wouldn't have a waiver like that. It would be stupid.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
