    PROBLEM WITH POP-UPS!

    Ok here's the deal:

I just purchased ZoneAlarm Internet Suite for my laptop and it has definately increased the speed of my comp to the way it should be. The only problem I'm still having is I continue to get these annoying pop-up (or pop-under not sure which one it is) ads when I'm browsing on Internet Explorer.

Now the thing is, I have IE and ZoneAlarm's pop-up blockers on maximum and I continue to have these. I thought it could be an "add-on" when you go to the "Tools" menu on Internet Explorer but maybe I'm wrong.

you should stop using IE. Look up firefox and use that . I do and get less than 1 pop up a month.

Use Firefox with the Ad-block Plus and Ad-block Filterset G add-ons, and you'll be pop-up free.

      People still use IE?

        Re: PROBLEM WITH POP-UPS!

if ever I use IE, I have a program called Bayden PopupPopper.. free & easy to use, & pop ups have been greatly reduced (some might get through, but not many).

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll delete IE and use Firefox with the pop-up applications PK suggested and see what happens.

dont delete ie because there are some sites out there that dont play well with firefox. there are firefox add ons that you can set a page to always be viewed in ie. I forgwt the exact name though.

The add-on is called IE View.

I don't use IE but I do have to use IE tab sometimes because something might not work in firefox. As soon as I do that though there are pop ups. I don't know how anyone could use IE exclusively.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Can someone please answer this. I'm trying to delete IE but my comp keeps saying "Unable to delete file cause file is used by another program or person."

                    Please help!

Oh yea, and I still have these pop-under ads. I'm assuming since I still have IE on my computer thats why i keep getting the pop-ups.

You can't delete Explorer easily on a machine running Windows. It's pretty much built in.

Just leave it and download Firefox. Some sites I go to to play games or watch videos and such don't work so well in Firefox, so I use IE then.

I had this problem and ended up having to restore my computer and reinstall everything.

BUYING ZA? everything I use is free (legally too! ).. I used to use the ZA firewall, but discovered a firewall that I like better -Comodo.. then all my spyware, anti-virus, and pop up blockers are all free too..
