What OS? You can do a factory backup, but need to create disks. There probably something in the system tools and/or control panel to do this, but I can't remember specifically where. You may be able to go to your cpu's company's website and find instructions there. Backup your beloved data files before you do anything.Comment

Yes you can do it, but it can cause some problems if you don't know what you are doing and can make your software from Dell not work if they've tied it to the drive. I would go to dell.com and see if you can download anything or have them send you the disk.
