    The Official OS Chess Thread

    Think you're good at chess?

    Prove it.

If a fellow OSer has a yahoo account (who doesn't), challenge them.

We can even do OS tournaments/set up rankings.

What we'll need, though, is a standard set of rules, such as time-limits for each game.

Re: The Official OS Chess Thread

I got into chess a little bit last year and starting reading strategy, playing chessmaster, etc... but don't have time for it. Fascinating game but very time consuming to get good. My father was a master or some really high level when he was in his late 20's.

I used to play quite a bit and I have some books, but it's been about three years since I've played regularly.

Do any of you guys have a PS3? There are always good chess tournaments going on in the HOME beta.

I don't have PS3. May have to get it for the show eventually, though.

And regarding the time issue, you can set it so that you only have 15 minutes (or even less) for the game, so it wouldn't take that long.
