I did that too. $17.99 for RB6 collectors edition is pretty sweet.

Not really a black friday deal but I just picked up college hoops 2k8 for $45 on buy.com by using google checkout. I'm tellin you thats about the 8th email address I have used.

Thanks for the heads up. Did that last year and got the game cheaper as well. Didn't think to look for it again this year.

Game isn't worth the full price of admission IMO so $50 shipped is a great price.

Well I went to Target this morning and picked up 3 copies of NBA 2k8 lol. They were sold out of COD4 . I proceeded to get my hustle on but end up burnt...wtf...

Anyway, first I tried Gamestop with a fresh copy of 2k8, but they're like "I'm sorry, we have to have a receipt" so I left and went to Wal-Mart number 1. At Wal-Mart 1, I brought in 2 copies of 2k8. One I kept in my coat and the other I brought to the service desk. After some talking and BS, I managed to get a gift card of $62.73 but I used my second exchange with no receipt.

So, being stupid (one of those rare times), I went back to the video game section, went into an aisle with nobody around and whipped out 2k8 no. 2. I then went to the guy working back there (Obviously trying to avoid the service desk again because that's just too suspicious) and told him that I grabbed that instead of CHoops 2k8. He opened the case and got me CHoops 2k8. One thing I wasn't thinking about, though--I had to pay for it right there on the spot. So I ended up losing a copy of NBA 2k8 and having to pay full price for CHoops 2k8 (Using the gift card). It took me a minute and then I realized that I was playing the game but calling the wrong plays.

I went to Wal-Mart 2 with NBA 2k8 in hand but with the receipt of CHoops 2k8 hoping I could be slick. The receipt didn't say "College Hoops 2k8" on it, all it said was "Videogame" and the price, so I thought I was good. I gave it to the woman and went back and picked up COD4 to exchange them. So far so good...except I had to wait like 20 minutes. So I'm finally at the stage of signing the receipt when she notices that it's for a different game (WTF...bar code...). So I ended up using my last exchange right there. Dang.

But anyway, I profited by $30 in reality I guess, but in real reality, I lost $60. I ended up with CHoops 2k8 and COD4 for 3 games of NBA 2k8. I haven't opened up CHoops2k8 yet though, I might take it back (with the receipt) because I'm not in College BBall mode yet and I might need the money.

But I also did pick up the Virgin Mobile Super Slice...Too bad there's like 0 accessories for it. I guess I'll have to get them online.

What in the world were you thinking walking into Walmart with a game in your coat?! You were lucky you didn't get stopped for shoplifting. And yeah you were both slick and pretty stupid all at once so I guess it evened out. You should have just did what you did w/the Walmart exchange for game #1 at a second Walmart.

You should of just brought one, and got the store credit, and just said you wanted hoops 2k8, and used gift card, then go to another walmart, and do the same thing, but this time you just get cod 4, then you have another one to sell on ebay or whatever.

Best deal I got was the 8.1 MP Kodak Camera at target for my wife for 89.99.Went to Target at 6AM for it. It was actually a nice little rush, saw a few of my firends at target and made the time go by pretty fast.

That's about it and got a dvd burner from best buy for 30 bucks.

Today, I went to Best Buy (at 1:00 am), then Target, Costco, Radio Shack, Circuit City, and finally Fry's. I ended up only getting an RCA antenna, the 360 VGA cable, and eight movies:

- King Kong
- The Descent
- Batman Begins
- Casino Royale, Fracture, The Fast and the Furious (part of a Gamestop "buy 2 used items, get the third free)
- 2 Fast 2 Furious (to complete my Fast/Furious installment)
- The Notebook (for my friend)

All at a grand total of $80.


I couldn't find the 360 VGA cable for anything less than $30, but that was only at Fry's. Opportunity costs kicked in, as I asked myself if it was worth waiting two (yes, two) hours in line just to buy a single product just to save $10. I figured it wasn't worth it, so I returned to Circuit City at the end of my spree to buy it for $40. I figure as long as I don't open it, I can return it.

To whomever said you could find a third party one at Gamestop (or maybe they said EB Games... same difference, right?), there was not one in sight. And like I said, only Fry's had a discount, though the line was treacherous.


It was a successful Black Friday for me, though I figured I didn't need to go so early for this stuff. It's just for the experience that I love going out there in 35 degree weather, I guess.

I wish movies like Disturbia, Shooter, and even the first three Die Hards had better deals, but I figure seven movies will be good enough to tie me over until I get a few more for Christmas.


No big spending. I already bought my TV (which, by the way, the only price I found for lower was at Best Buy for $499.99, but my mom didn't want me to buy something and ship it by plane... that's my mom for ya), and I pray my roommate went for a 360. It's part of what the new TV and the VGA cable are for until next summer when I plan to get a 360.

Does anyone know if Target will do a raincheck for NBA 2k8? In their ad they specifically say no rainchecks on certain TV's and such. But in the video game part of the ad they don't say anything regarding rainchecks.

I have one for NBA 2k8 for XBox 360. They had rainchecks out for all the games on sale that were gone. I picked up the last Gears of War and got my raincheck for 2k8. It's good at any Target until 1/8/08.

Nice. Usually there are disclaimers on the Black Friday ads that say that they refuse to price match for these sales, but congrats on being able to pick one up.

By the way, is it just me or is this day just full of idiots in the stores? I just want to get in, pick up my games and get out. But the parking lot is almost full and the aisles are littered by people who are just wandering around looking for great deals. That's why they send out the flyers.

I was able to get in and out of Target in about 10 minutes but was plenty frustrated by people with no regard for anyone else just strolling around or stopping and blocking everyone's way.

Circuit City decided to be...Circuit City. I go to the TV section to pick up some $18 24 and some $15 Gilmore Girls. There were 0 copies of 24, and 2 Gilmore Girls, but they were Seasons 5-6 which were the only 2 not on sale. And it's not like I got there late, there wasn't even room for them.

Maybe its me, but I did not see that many great deals in the ads this year. It seemed like last year there were better deals. Maybe I'm wrong.

LOL, I know. But the way I planned it worked fine, it's just that I didn't consider all the factors. I didn't even think of price matching. Well, I did but I forgot about it. I should have done that.
