    The "I didnt get it, did you?" thread

    here is the thread that answers all questions......

    name a movie scene\plot that you didnt quite understand...and someone who has seen it tries to explain it to you.....

    youd be suprised by all the "ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh" moments this will create...

    I have one right off the bat: How did the main characters son avoid death in The Ring....I dont recall a copy ever being made for him

    This thread is going to have spoilers everywhere.

    Yes, they made a copy for him in the copy room, the mom and son made it together, and hit record together.

      How did the son survive in War of the Worlds? I doubt anyone has an answer but that was one of the dumbest things I've seen in a movie.

      If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

        LOL, I thought the samething. I had forgot all about him and then BAM, he shows up at the end. That was stupid.

                  * FIGHT CLUB SPOILER*

                  Even though multiple personality disorder/syndrome is real, is it real enough to be carried by that imaginary person? How is Edward Norton being carried through the parking garage by Brad Pitt if Pitt doesn't exist? I understand him fighting himself and stuff, but the being tugged isn't physically possible.

                    That was one of my main complaints with the movie. The end. Tom Cruise & Dakota Fanning walk up and the son & the wifey's family came out like they had just showered and played checkers. Had me dying.

                      I watched Children of Men and was completely lost. No one has babies so the population is suffering but it would seem the government doesn't want babies?

                          That movie was a dissapointment.

                            I didn't understand the whole immigrant thing. I mean, it seemed like the country was straight ***, and people were trying to sneak in? Really now?

                              The government didn't want babies in Chlidren Of Men? Yea, I think you got a bit confused there.

                              It was more like this woman had a special gift. If no one has seen this special gift occur in 20+ years, what would you think government would do if someone displayed this gift to the world? They would want to test the keeper of this gift. So people wanted to protect her.
                              "It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

                              "You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
