Re: Greatest Hip Hop Album Of All Time?
Personally, I'll say Illmatic, but lots of that is personal preference. Gotta say, 'Radio' seems a bit out of place, I'm not sure it belongs in the same list as most of these. I'd put 'Death Certificate, or even 'Doggystyle' up there, but overall a very solid list.Comment

Re: Greatest Hip Hop Album Of All Time?
I have to say my personal favorite probably is Tupac's classic All Eyez on Me. This guy get's right out of Jail and BAM!!! California love. Not many come from lockdown to put it down on wax bangin like he did, well a lotof them don't go to jail either. Just to sad what happened to him and Biggie. R.I.P. Peace!!!!The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Greatest Hip Hop Album Of All Time?
Other ones I didn't put on were Doggystyle, Liquid Swordz, Supreme Clientele, Death Certificate, and Aquemini. I tried to limit it to 15. Yeah, Radio is out of place, but its a classic, especially for its time. LL and Pac are guys who have a billion albums but no real Mangum Opus so I put a classic for each of them on the list.Comment

Re: Greatest Hip Hop Album Of All Time?
My name says it all. It revolutionized the way albums were constructed from the inside out. It marked one of the 1st times multiple well known top shelf producers worked together on one singular project. In the early 90's it was very production team driven and or single producers doin it all. 1st album to receive 5 mics when the Source meant something and it is still the gold standard that all other debut solo albums are judged. So when ever someone talks about Lil Wayne being nice and the best out now, listen to those verses on that album and he cant even touch some of the wordplay Nas showed and that was 10+ years ago.Comment

Re: Greatest Hip Hop Album Of All Time?
Out of that list, I chose Black Star simply because its my favorite from the list. Others I would have included would have been 3 Feet High & Rising by De La Soul or Liquid Swords by GZA. I just got int BDP and only have By All Means Necessary, but if Criminal Minded is somehow better than that album, I would have had to chose that one.

Re: Greatest Hip Hop Album Of All Time?
Of the ones listed, I think The Chronic is the best, of course, it's all about personal preference, nothing definitive except that they are all great albums. I like Me Against the World but I prefer the 7 Day Theory. I even like Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. slightly better to tell the truth. 36 really changed how a lot of Southerners viewed East Coast, when that dropped, we started trying out a lot of New York artists (when I say we, I am talking about the kids growing up around my age at the time). Rakim on Paid in Full showed what I hot MC really was, one of my most favorite albums to this day. Not a bad list though like SoMiss said, it's missing some OutKast and southern albums in general.PS: You guys are great.
