 Re: Beowulf Impressions?

Interesting, i just saw the movie, Personal thought on the movie, a good movie with great action scenes. a great movie. However i never really read the original, i'm lost to why people don't like the ending or the second half of this movie, anyone care to explain?

I saw a SC-FI movie on Beowulf about 6 months ago, not sure how closely that followed the original, but heres what happened:

Beowulf comes to town to kill grendel, but grendal isn't the son of the king though. However the king did make a deal with Grendel's mother and thats the reason why no children are born in the kingdom, and a kingdom without Children means no future Kingdom because everyone dies.

Cutting to end, Beowulf kills Grendel as well as his mother without falling into her lust (shes hideous) in the movie though. Any big differences?

however Beowulf falling for Grendel's mother, not soo cool :dag: He was a hero destiny to be king without doing that, too sad.

It was an average movie.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

 Re: Beowulf Impressions?

I just figured that if the poem was as timeless as it is, and they hyped the movie as epic, then why change the story? It just seemed like a gimmick GCI movie with a 300 knockoff tag line.

It was alright, but not as great as I thought it would be.Comment

 Re: Beowulf Impressions?

Just saw the 3D version Saturday afternoon and loved it. Been a long time since I saw a 3D movie. They did a great job. I really liked the movie itself. Angelina Jolie was just...wow. Never been a big fan of hers but she looked great in this even though she was CGI. The only thing I think they didn't pull off well with this was the horses galloping. That's being really nitpicky. It looked too fake. The rest of the movie was very realistic. Hard to tell at times that the people weren't real, at least to me.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
 NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
 NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
 NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
 NHL: Calgary Flames
