Are video game writers part of the writers guild?

Or are they in a separate union?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

    Yes and no.

It really depends on the writer and the direction he or she takes.

Some are part of the writer's guild because they may have done some film work.

You aren't a member of the WGA just because you write for video games. The WGA is mostly concentrated on protecting the rights of writers in movies, television, and news.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

They can be part of the WGA but I recently read something that said writing for a video game doesn't conflict with the WGA strike. Essentially video games won't b effected by the WGA strike.
