installing xp over vista

quick question guys...

On black friday, i plan on getting a laptop that comes with Vista. I want vista off though and install XP instead. If i use an xp cd to reformat, will it work to just replace Vista with xp, or is it more difficult than that?

It depends on how the hardware is laid out.

I'm on a quad core processor and from what i read the system bios will flip out IF XP gets installed on it. Only 2 of the cores will work...

Look into it BEFORE you buy. Find some forums. Look at topics for "dual booting" of OS's.
