    Graphics card question

I just picked up a 128 MB GeForce FX 5200 graphics card and got installed and working, but the colors are all messed up. For example, green is is more of a grey, the white isn't a true white, and the red & blue are much too bright. I'm not sure if it's because of my monitor or not. I've currently got a 15'' CRT that's about 6 years old. My LCD monitor burned out, so I'm using the older CRT until I buy a new LCD.

Any tips on what I can do to solve the issue, or do I just need a new monitor?

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Graphics card question

When your PC is booting up, are the colors messed up before you even get to Windows?

If you wouldn't see colors during that process anyway, go into your BIOS screen. There should be colors there.

Yes, the colors are messed up at boot-up.

I'd probably be better off just buying a new monitor, wouldn't I?

        Yeah...

Assuming you've already verified that the cable is securely connected on both ends.

Make sure you have the newest drivers for your graphics card.
