Re: Steven King's "The Mist"
I absolutely loved the movie. As others have said, it is a very bleak film. It's quite possibly the most depressing film I've ever seen. I do, however, think that some of the acting was poor (not all).
SpoilerAs for The Punisher killing his son, et al, I understand why he did it. Like most have said, he (as well as everyone else in the car, sans the boy) felt all hope was lost, and that suicide was the best decision. I don't know if I would have done that, as I would have waited a while longer; I would have either waited until tons of monsters starting coming towards the vehicle, or when I was in agony due to starvation/dehydration. It would be best to wait it out to see if the mist cleared (as it did), but that's easy for me to say now that I know what happened.
Edit: Also, might I add.....thank you, Ollie.Last edited by Double Eights; 04-25-2008, 08:44 PM.Comment

Re: Steven King's "The Mist"
It was different from the books:
Spoiler
In the book they simply drive on into the mist hoping to find salvation.
Also, the main guy never got to see if his wife was alive or not. The road to his house was blocked by some fallen trees and there were spider webs all over the property. He just assumed she was dead.Comment

I loved the ending to the book, but for a movie it wouldn't have worked at all.Comment

Re: Steven King's "The Mist"
Why thank you for the bump.
I watched this movie today and I loved and hated it. I loved the ending for what it made me feel. I hated the movie because it made me get really upset with a movie character (carmondy). I don't think I've ever hated a movie character more than her.
I have to ask one question though. Was Carmondy right? After they died the mist receded.Last edited by The C; 06-28-2008, 11:02 PM.Comment

Re: Steven King's "The Mist"
I have never wanted to go through my screen and kill a character more than I did with her. I actually felt a very, very strong hatred for her and I don't think I've ever felt that way with a movie character before.Comment
