    Laptop Problem!!

Im not a CPU expert so bare with me. I recently went and purchased some ram to upgrade my laptop and when I went to install it the clips on either side that hold the memory sticks in place broke clean off. Now I can run it off the other socket but considering I had 2 1GB sticks to throw in it already I obviously didnt want to do this, is it possible to position it in there and let the cover hold it in place or am I going to run into heating problems? Ive had the laptop on for nearly 4 hours now and it is running a little warm but Im not sure if its any different then normal, I have it in there and it is recognizing it and its working just fine with no problems with the CPU but I cant help but think Im doing more damage then its worth. Does anyone have any ideas as to whether or not this setup will work?

    Re: Laptop Problem!!

Well Acer isnt going to help me without charging me 449.99 to fix it, sucks considering it was there cheap product that caused the problem but I guess there isnt anything that can be done about that. If anyone knows of any way to keep a memory stick in place when you dont have the clips/arm that holds it in place let me know either here or in a PM. Damn this sucks, spent the money, and now cant even use the memory I bought.

You could try putting some type of spacer between the memory and the door, as long as whatever you use isn't going to melt.
